The presets included in Topaz B&W Effects are organized into 7 collections - each offering a different style of effects from traditional Silver Gelatin to stylized. Unique to Topaz are the Van Dyke Brown Collection, Cyanotype Collection, Opalotype Collection and the Albumen Collection, which all simulate historical printing processes. All-Inclusive, Streamlined Workflow: Topaz B&W Effects is easy for users new to black and white processing and flexible enough for the advanced pros. It features a stage-based interface layout that organizes all your conversion, enhancement and finishing tools into manageable steps to help ease you through the editing process.
There are 4 main adjustment tabs for each stage of the workflow and each contain sub-tabs with your individual adjustment tools. At anytime you can disable/enable the preview for the sub-tab to preview your image with or without the added effect.
- Step 1 - Conversion. Includes basic tools for black and white conversion, using standard and adaptive exposure adjustments. Also includes the tools to enhance contrast and tone sensitivity.
- Step 2 - Creative Effects. Features creative stylized tools including realistic, graphic and artistic effects.
- Step 3 - Local Adjustments. Selectively apply image adjustments using an advanced brush. Adjustments include burning, dodging and smoothing. Plus selective color and selective detail.
- Step 4 - Finishing Touches. This final step is for applying important finishing touches to your image. It includes toning, grain, borders, vignettes and more.
