The Telephoto Combo consists of Wimberley Modules 1, 2, and 3. When these three modules are assembled they form a bracket that attaches to the quick release plate of your telephoto lens and wraps 180 degrees around the lens to position the flash above the lens. Adjust the vertical position of the Tilt Arm on the Upright for different sized telephoto lenses. Flip the Tilt Arm upside down to lower the flash even further. You can also attach the Tilt Arm so that it positions the flash off-center. If you eliminate the Upright and attach the Tilt Arm directly to the Quick Release Arm you have a compact bracket that works with the Wimberley Sidekick (Combo 6).
This setup is ideal for applications such as photographing from a ballhead or when handholding. When you are through using the bracket you can leave it assembled (it lays perfectly flat) or disassemble it for even more compact storage.
The components in the Wimberley flash bracket system are sturdy, lightweight fully intercompatible, and require no tools to attach, adjust, or disassemble. Each features an Arca-Swiss style quick-release clamp: easy to affix, adjust and remove. Connections are solid and don't twist, creep, or slip apart. Parts can be disassembled for easy storage. The Wimberley brackets work best with Wimberley quick-release plates, but often work with other Arca-Swiss style plates. Aluminum components are milled from solid 6061 T6 aluminum and are black anodized, fasteners are stainless steel, and knobs are captive.
